We did not think about opening this section with her, but the events pushed us to start with one of the european pret-a-porter: Sonia Rykiel
We’re superfans of S. Rykiel because:
She made of knitwear something feminine and sexy, inventing the first skin fit sweater and to be called in 1972 by Women’s Wear Daily the Queen of Knit.
She decided to show the sewings so her clothes were to be worn direcly on the nude skin and gave freedom to the moves.
She knew how to make the stripes something not only for sailors plying with tones and colours.
She was one of the first designer to make real street wear for women.
A big star of the contempory fashion is gone…
