Caroline Set Coffee Jar from Pornic, France

A nice coffee jar by MBFA-Pornic (Manufacture Bretonne de Faïences Artistiques) founded in 1948. This one is clearly from the 1950s, bellonging to the Caroline series – the orchid decor.
Its a semi handcrafted item as the general shape is molded but the decoration is hand painted. The bisque* effect is really nice with the stiny white and the shiny colourful orchid.
We also love this so peculiar shape…
An rare and stylish item.

<br>* means that it’s been cooked two times, with the enamel painting done in between.
